Janakpurdham Food Festival: “84 Byanjan”
On April 28, 2023, a delightful culinary celebration unfolded at the Mithila Yatri Niwas in Janakpurdham, Nepal. The Janakpur Food Festival, organized by the Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre, Embassy of India Kathmandu, and Consulate General of India Birgunj with local partner Sambad Foundation, aimed to highlight the rich variety of Maithili cuisine and commemorate the shared Mithila cultural heritage between India and Nepal. The festival took place on the auspicious occasion of Janki Navami and was inaugurated by Shree Hari Shankar Mishra, the Governor of Madhesh Pradesh. By highlighting millets and commemorating the shared cultural heritage between India and Nepal, the festival not only satisfied taste buds but also fostered cultural understanding and appreciation.
