Janakpurdham Cultural Festival: A Spectacle of Shared Heritage
On the enchanting evening of Janaki Nawami April 28, 2023, the Janakpurdham Cultural Festival took place, captivating audiences with a mesmerizing display of cultural performances. Organized by the Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India Kathmandu, Consulate General of India Birgunj, and in collaboration with the local partner, Sambad Foundation, the festival celebrated the shared cultural heritage between India and Nepal. The event coincided with Sita Navami and was a part of the ongoing celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Folk Cultural Performance:
The highlight of the Janakpurdham Cultural Festival was the Folk Cultural Performance, showcasing a tapestry of artistic expressions. Teachers and artists from the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre took the stage to present captivating cultural performances, including enchanting Bhajans, soulful Ragas, and a Bharatanatyam dance drama recital based on the life of Ram and Sita. Maithili Folk Songs and Dances:
