Empowering Youth: Anti-Child Marriage and Anti-Dowry Rally
Sambad Foundation, dedicated to empowering youth and raising their voices against societal issues, organized a significant campaign against child marriage and dowry. The event took place in Kanakpur village, Gajura Municipality, Rautahat District, Madhesh Pradesh, on July 14, 2023. This rally aimed to create awareness and advocate for the eradication of harmful practices such as child marriage and dowry.
Campaign against Child Marriage:
The anti-child marriage campaign was a vital part of the rally. Child marriage continues to be a pressing issue in many communities, with devastating consequences for the young girls involved. Samvad Foundation, through this campaign, sought to highlight the importance of providing children with education, opportunities, and a childhood free from the burdens of early marriage. The rally aimed to encourage community members to actively work towards preventing child marriages and ensuring the well-being of young girls.

The rally also addressed the issue of dowry, which remains a deeply rooted social problem in many societies. Dowry puts financial pressure on families and perpetuates gender inequality. Samvad Foundation recognized the need to challenge and eliminate this harmful practice. The campaign aimed to educate community members about the detrimental effects of dowry, foster discussions on gender equality, and promote a society free from the burden of dowry demands.
Youth Empowerment and Advocacy:
Samvad Foundation’s core mission is to empower youth, and this campaign provided an opportunity for young individuals to become advocates for change.
