SAMBAD IN SUPPORT TO BIRGUNJ NIGHT MARKET

On April 18, 2024, the Sambad Foundation Parsa supported the Birgunj night market by offering free health camps and giving out drinking water to visitors. These efforts helped make the event safer and more comfortable for everyone who attended. This work also helped build a stronger and more positive connection with the local community.

Free health camp(s): Basic health checks and first-aid services made available to attendees on-site. Drinking-water distribution: Complimentary water supplied to visitors to promote hydration during the evening event. Volunteer support: Sambad volunteers staffed the health camp and water-distribution points (names/number of volunteers can be added if available).

Beneficiaries and Reach

  • Night-market visitors, including families, shoppers, and street vendors.
  • Event organizers and local stakeholders benefited from reduced on-site health concerns and improved attendee comfort.

Outcomes and Impact

  • Improved access to basic health services and immediate care for minor ailments or injuries.
  • Enhanced attendee comfort and safety through free water distribution, especially valuable during busy evening hours.
  • Positive visibility for Sambad Foundation Parsa as an active community partner supporting public events.
  • Strengthened relations with local event organizers and community members, opening opportunities for future collaboration.

Record simple service metrics (number of people checked, water bottles distributed, types of health issues seen) for monitoring and reporting. Position a clearly marked first-aid station at future events and ensure at least one trained medical volunteer is present.
