National Earth conservation day celebrated by sambad kaski

On National Earth Conservation Day, August 8, 2024, the Sambad Foundation Kaski held a successful Tree Plantation Program at Nadipur, Pokhara-3. Many local residents, nature lovers, and volunteers joined the event. Together, they planted young trees to make the neighborhood greener. The program was led by Sumit Gotame Bishwakarma and the Sambad Kaski team.

Objectives

The event aimed to:

  • Increase local green cover and improve the neighborhood environment.
  • Engage the community in hands-on conservation activities.
  • Raise awareness about the importance of tree planting and proper sapling care.
  • Strengthen local partnerships for future sustainability initiatives.

Participants The program brought together: Local community members and residents of Pokhara-3, Environmental advocates and conservation groups, Volunteer teams mobilized by Sambad Foundation.

Activities Welcome remarks and a short awareness talk on the value of trees and basic care tips. Demarcation and preparation of planting sites. Guided plantation of saplings using standard planting methods (proper hole depth, soil backfill, initial watering). Briefing on follow-up care and responsibilities for monitoring sapling survival.
